Ormond Beach Mall Slated For Makeover

March 23, 2009 – Ormond Beach, FL – A southeastern developer Century Retail announced the redevelopment Ormond Beach Mall anchored by Publix Super Market and 20,000 square feet of small shop space, with construction to commence in April. Century Retail acquired in January for eight million dollars.

Ormond Beach Mall is located in the City of Ormond Beach, Florida on Ocean Shore Drive between Longwood and Lynnhurst Drives.

The redevelopment project consists of two phases. The first include the demolition of the current Publix grocery store as well as two small shop bays. Phase Two will involve the construction of a new, state of the art, 45,600 square foot Publix Super Market and the remainder of the mall will have the façade updated. In addition to the new façade and new Publix, new parking lot and lights will also be added to the plaza. The two bank out-parcel buildings will remain in their current configurations.

“Century Retail is very enthusiastic about investing in Ormond Beach. We feel a new Publix and shopping center facelift will be a nice asset for the community,” states Charlie Boscarino, President of Century Retail.

The Century Retail construction development team estimate that both phases will be completed by the end of the year and Publix opening is scheduled to be in April 2010.

Century Retail just completed a redevelopment project that included another grocer in Lakeland, FL and plan on completing two other Publix redevelopment projects within the next 15 months.

Century Retail currently leases and manages over 80 properties within the Southeast, mainly in Central Florida. This commercial leasing company specializes in redevelopment and acquisitions.
